Sorry to Break your heart,
But Maharana NEVER ATE Grass Rotis, the whole episode of Rani Ajabde Pawar preparing Grass Rotis & a cat snatching the loaf from her daughter's hand is a later date creation.
Truth is Maharana NEVER had a Daughter.

The story finds No mention in any historical record until Col Tod wrote about it, even in that record he doesn't mention it as a Fact as there was no source of the info, but as an Annal (ΰ€•ΰ€₯ΰ€Ύ). The account never found any record in Amar kavya Vanshavali, Raj Ratnakar or any Khyat.
The truth is, Maharana was never in such a deplorable state to the extent of eating Grass Rotis.
At any time he ruled at least 10,000 SQ KMS of Mewar, on which Akbar could never hold his sway.
In addition to that he had alliance with adjoining kingdoms of Songara Chauhans of Jalore, Rao Surtan of Sirohi, Chandra Sen Chauhan of Naddula, Narain Das of Idar they provided tactical info & resources whenevr reqd.
Mughals held only the NE Mewar, rest was under Maharana.
Mewar was strategically located enroute to major trade routes & on road to the Ports of Gujarat. Mewari Army regularly collected Tax from Merchants and travelers traveling on these routes.
Rana Kika was extremely popular among Bhils who were a gr8 support in hilly areas of Mewar.
People promoting such myths forget that Mewar was also a centre of copper production at Mines in Ahad & Zinc production at Zawar. In fact, Zinc was extracted in Mewar since the times of Maharana Lakha, according to an estimate Zinc production alone amounted to 1,82,000/- a year.
Mewar was blessed with agricultural produces of Macca, Moong, Urad Daal and Rice etc.
The wealth accumulated through the mining activities, strategic location and Maharana Sanga’s victories over Gujarat, Malwa & Delhi Sultanate financed Mewar’s struggle against Islmaic occupation
in the 15-17th century. A king who ruled 10,000 Sq Kms of land with the wealth and resources at his helm, may have a crunch of fighting force due to continuous wars against a dominant power but never had a shortage of funds and food stock.
