By the 1680s, the Jats had influence over the areas of Bharatpur, Alwar, Agra, Mathura & Aligarh districts.
1681, Jun: Just before Aurangzeb's departure from Rajputana towards Deccan, a Jat revolt broke out in Agra. The Mughal faujdar was wounded, & died due to his injuries.

Over the course of next 4-5 years, reports arrived in northern India of the Mughal failures in Deccan, Chhatrapati Sambhaji's daring raids, & the miserable entanglement of Aurangzeb with the Marathas, Adilshah & Qutbshah.
4.
1685: In the meantime, Rajaram Jat & Ramchehra Jat - two Jat leaders of Sinsini & Sogar respectively - prepared to challenge Mughal imperial strength! Both of them united the neighbouring people, armed & trained them in firearms.
The territory was also fortified.
5.
1686: In early months, Rajaram Jat attacked Akbar’s tomb at Agra for 1st time. But,Mir Abul Fazl managed to turn back Rajaram. Rajaram attacked Shikarpur & Ratanpur on his way back.
In May, Khan-i-Jahan was sent against Rajaram Jat, but Rajaram was victorious against him too!
6.
1687: Rajaram Jat attacked Aghar Khan, who was going from Kabul to Aurangzeb’s Vijayapura camp, via Dholpur. 5 miles from Dholpur, the Jats defeated Aghar Khan in a battle, k!lled him, and 80 of his followers.
7.
1688: Rajaram attacked Mir Ibrahim (Mahabat Khan) at Agra while Mahabat was going to Punjab, but was repulsed after long & stubborn battle.
8.
Later in 1688, Rajaram made his 2nd attempt at the tomb of Akbar in Agra. The Jats took away the precious stones of the building, took away carpets, gold & silver vessels, lamps, etc. & damaged the building.
Akbar’s bones were dragged out & thrown in the fire and burnt!
9.
However, on Jul 4, 1688, Rajaram Jat died in a battle near Bijal at the hands of a Mughal musketeer.
1690: In Jan, Mughals under Bidar Bakht besiege Sinsini. Walls were breached due to a mine. After three hrs of tough fighting, Mughals capture Sinsini Fort.
10.
During the period 1688-1695, Mughals captured Jat strongholds, including Sinsini & Sogor (1691). Due to substantial Mughal pressure, this period witnessed weakening of Jat activities.
11.
By 1695, Mughals had been exhausted by the protracted war in Deccan. The Mughal pressure over Jats had also relaxed.
Churaman Jat followed footsteps of his brother - the great Rajaram Jat - to re-unite the Jats. He built fortresses, improved the Jat infantry with inclusion..

..of fusilier musketeers. He also incorporated cavalry.
1695-1704: Churaman Jat attacked Agra, Kota, Bundi, Hindaun & Bayana posts of Mughals. In 1704, he recaptured the Sinsini Fort from Mughals.
13.
1705: Mughals besieged Sinsini. But, the rains & Jat attacks made the siege very hard. During such attacks, 3 out of 5 Mughal cannons were destroyed, and another one disabled by Jats.
Despite this, Mughals captured Sinsini on 9th Oct 1705 after arduous siege.

Such was the resistance put up by the Jats during the course of 27 Year War!
Naman to the heroes - Rajaram Jat, Ramchehra Jat, & Churaman Jat 🙏🚩
