Fasted cardio is NOT superior to fed cardio for fat loss!
Yes fasted cardio will increase fat burning during exercise more than fed cardio
So what?πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ
Fat burning is NOT the same thing as losing body fat. It’s is only one half of the story
Fat balance = fat stored - fat burned
Fasted cardio increases fat burning during exercise, but this is compensated for by reduced fat burning during the rest of the day
Contrarily, fed cardio burns less fat during exercise but this is compensated by increased fat burning the rest of the day
The net difference is 0
In studies examining actual loss of body fat (not just fat burning/oxidation) where calories & exercise work are equated we see NO DIFFERENCES in fat loss between fed & fasted cardio
Evidence for this:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
res.mdpi.com
I know many of you love to strawman my arguments here is what I’m NOT saying:
❌I’m not saying fasted cardio doesn’t work
❌I’m not saying you can’t lose fat with fasted cardio
What I’m saying is:
βœ…Fasted cardio isn’t superior to fed
βœ…Both work equally so do what you prefer
