Two papyrus letter fragments in a fine Sahidic Coptic uncial book hand, circa AD 600. Acquired by Sir Thomas Phillipps
from the collection of the notorious Guglielmo Libri in 1862 - at the time some of the very earliest Coptic papyri to reach the West. 1/
Published as P. CrumST 179 in "Short Texts from Coptic Ostraca and Papyri" by W. E. Crum in 1921. These fragments belong to the correspondence of Bishop Pesynthius of Koptos (590 – 632), who is today remembered as a saint by the Coptic Orthodox Church. 2/
