MLA raises the issue of non availability of even basic medicines like vitamin C, calcium and diclofenac at JJ Hospital and patients have to buy from outside. Minister replies that he will immediately *suspend the doctor who wrote the prescription*. Just unbelievable madness!!
I am so happy that at least my younger daughter is NOT doing medicine. She is safe from such power crazed maniacs who will suspend doctors for prescribing multivitamins and painkillers instead of making sure basic medicines are available at the public hospitals.
But wait, it gets worse. When a BJP MLA asks the Speaker why a doctor should be suspended for administrative failure in procuring medicines, the speaker replies that *the doctor will be suspended only if found guilty after an inquiry* and the minister virtually brushes him off.
