Why aren't Hindus reacting? Why don't they fight M/X/22 ? Why are they not opposing Modi for his pro Buddhist approach?
And more questions usually followed by " If they don't do anything they'll be finished" type prediction.
Well the fact is that Hindus are already finished+

We say " If we don't do anything we'll be finished" truth is " we don't do anything because we are finished"
All these noises about action, resistance, fight etc. is nothing more than Rudalis crying over corpses. +

I am not being alarmist or anything and a few years back I'd have dismissed such suggestions as ultra pessimistic but slowly a realization has grown me : The old religion is over; things won't be the same as they have been for a very very long time. +
It's quite possible I wasn't seeing things closely enough or got too swayed by the big headline
"Hindutva rising" without caring to examine what exactly the content of this "Hindutva" was. It was only on closer inquiry that we found this Hindutva was not the "old religion"+

Not only was it not the old religion but it had come to weaken and supplant the old religion. To modernize, to reform, to annihilate caste, to cancel Puranas and murti Puja, to make us ashamed of rituals. In other words eating the foundations of the old religion like termites+
All the paying lip service to sanatana sanskriti and dharma. However, this is not an anti Hindutva thread and all blame of its demise cannot be put on them. It's not as if others such as Congress, Socialists or Communists were dying to save the old religion +
They too were hostile but their hostility was open and clear and Hindus could see from a mile that these are not "our" people.
The Hindutvawadi OTOH came like Ravana came to Sita in the forest. Wearing Bhagwa, speaking Sanskrit nishth Hindi, uttering "dharma" every 3rd second+

They definitely seemed to be our people but..as history showed it was subterfuge, sabotage from the inside. Aise sthaan pe le jaake maara jahan paani bhi nahi mila. +
It's not that people were totally stupid that they could not see it earlier. It's the perfect deceit that did them. One hand they were asking to cancel caste, Puranas, rituals, murti puja, hereditary pujaris etc. and on the other they would show RJB, 2002 from time to time+
Not realizing that while freeing Ram Janma Bhumi temple is a huge achievement it does not do anything. not automatically, to reclaim the old religion in our day to day living. In fact from what we have seen so far, things moved in the opposite direction.+
Even the celebrations of court judgement had not finished when these guys started talk about priests from purposes of Social justice. In other words the moment of greatest Hindu triumph was turned into moment where the Hindu would be further cut from the old religion+
and hardly anyone except 500 anachronistic crazies on Twitter protested but Hindu samaj was be ok with it. It was not an issue that needed to be debated before we could move ahead on the work of construction. Pujari thing is not confirmed I am not betting against it happening+
but I can definitely bet my money on Hindus doing nothing & continuing to visit the temple if SJ preest happened.
What does this tell us about so called Hindus ?
That social justice is more important than traditions of temple built by old religion following ancestors+

Another what we call critical incident was the building of Kashi corridor. It was proved beyond any shred of doubt that hundreds of temples, pauranika temples mentioned in Kashi Khand of Skanda Purana, had been demolished in order to build the corridor. Everyone knew this+
But there was no protest worth the name in Kashi, there was no protest on Twitter. It wasn't an issue against ruling party in VS elections. And why ?
Because " Broad streets, spacious corridor mil raha hai. Vikas ho raha hai"
What does that tell about Hindus? +

It says that Vikas is more important than temples. And this is not just about Kashi. Kashi needs special mention because it has been the heart of Hinduism for at least 1000 years.
If followers of a religion are not sensitive to the damage done to their heart, are they alive? +

are they alive as religious beings? Can they be called religious people? Can they be called Hindus? Will they fight for the old religion ? If they aren't hurt and they won't fight. What are they ? Corpses? Right? +
Another evidence of the death of old religion is that most popular H leader who happens to be the PM country relentlessly promotes a leader who wrote riddles of Hinduism and said the nastiest possible things about our gods & scriptures (integral elements of any/ old religion)+
And his followers do not call it out. He promotes a Buddhism that was made a symbol of anti Hindu protest by the above mentioned Hindi hater leader but his followers ( a big chunk of Hindus) are fine with this. What does it say about Hindus ?
It says old gods don't matter for them, they won't defend them. Old scriptures don't matter to them, they are embarrassed by them. It says they don't feel bad seeing the ruler of country promoting another religion ( Buddhism) or giving doles to people of yet another religion( M)+
If you don't feel bad about promotion of other religions and attack on old religion, are you still a follower of the old religion ? We can go on and on but the point is already understood : that there are unmistakable signs of massive decay of Hindus' loyalty to the old religion+
I am sure they will not abandon the "Hindu" tag. They will keep calling themselves Hindus and call their religion Hinduism, as long as they can. But make no mistake this religion is not same as the old religion.
There are still some pockets that are invested in the old religion+
There are still some pockets that are invested in the old religion+
In that sense it will not die but it's almost certainly true that the old religion is not the religion of the majority in this country. In that sense it is dead.
Will this change ? I don't know. I mean if it was only about ordinary human beings I'd say " it all over" +

But I have one faint hope, that another Adi Shankaracharya like figure will burst on the horizon and make everything right. That is all I pin my hope on.
