Our National emblem itself is a Buddhist religious symbol of Dharma chakra - a symbol that has no relevance or inspiration for most of the Indian population!
It’s Indian secularism in nutshell - anything but Hindu is fine!
Speaking state emblems though I must southern states have done great job in devising their state emblems that are directly in link with their past and heritage of the people. Could have been better without Char minar and such but oh well it is still better than..
..many northern states like Bihar and Andhra who for some unknown reason thought to make it even more Buddhist than national emblem could be!
But I guess the most Chad state emblems is that of Maharashtra. Directly inspired from the Royal deal of Chhatrapati Shivaji himself! Pleasant change from the state bound in the shackles of Nehruvian secularism
Compare it with the state emblem of Gujarat that was formed at the same time and could have Atleast use Kirti Torana of Vadnagar given its reputation as Trad state but oh well..
Historically most Medieval states in the past used Nandi, Garuda, Gaja Lakshmi and other sacred symbols and symbols of royalty as their seals. The fact that modern Indian national emblem isn’t connected with them Even slightly shows how much it is disconnected with its past!
