Bad people will always succeed. It is unfair but it is the way the world works until good people decide to get together and become a counterforce. The problem with good people is that they are sometimes too altruistic to see reality for what it is. Everyone has a gray area.
There are things most people will allow in the interest of peace or to save those that they love. Many tolerate those who start out bad because they are either family, friends or business associates. We never call them to order until we are compromised ourselves. That is reality.
Bad people exploit this duality in people and create an extreme form of reality through rationalization. Many people I have caught in the past doing terrible things and I have cut off have become very popular and even βsuccessfulβ in the eyes of others. They exploited many others
The saying that there is no halfway crook is very true. Bad people are ALWAYS manipulative and rationalize their actions. I realized one day that most bad people don't see good or bad but only what is optimal for themselves. It is simply extreme selfishness. If you sense it, run!

Being good is reward in itself. Being bad is not. It must lead to some other extrinsic reward or it will lead to unhappiness. This is why people get wealthy and find out that it doesn't bring them happiness.
