I will always argue and advocate for Africans to take responsibility for solving our own problems and let go of hanging them on external bogeymen.
That is not the same thing as refusing to acknowledge that the external bogeymen do in fact exist and have shaped our world.
Both things are true at the same time. It is not one or the other. It is correct to say that we should not blame British colonialism for poor electricity supply in 2022.
It is also correct to say that British colonialism created the political reality that incubated we face now.
Because I've noticed that whenever I put out a message advocating for taking charge instead of blaming white people, a certain demographic always responds enthusiastically, but when I acknowledge that said white people did in fact severely fuck things up, it becomes a problem.
That demographic needs to understand that I put out my own original thoughts 100% of the time. I am not here to perform for anybody, including them.
If you have a problem with that, feel free to hit that unfollow, mute or block button.
It's a free world.
