In this thread I'll try to accurately narrow down luffy's dream using this chapter. It's a long one so here goes:
1) It is NOT a benevolent dream. It's not to give food or to free people. Why? Roger was not that type of guy & they had the same dream.
#ONEPIECE1060
It's not some kumbaya share sake with world either. LUFFY DOESN'T EVEN LIKE SAKE. He's primarily not a hero to strangers, only to his friends and the people they care about. WE KNOW THIS. And although close, it's not to go to the moon either. That's verbatim Enel's dream.
Firstly Luffy / Roger were true adventure-loving pirates and not heroes like Sabo. They don't care about strangers or injustices on the other side of the world. The common factor is ADVENTURE. It's also implied being the pirate King is ONLY a stepping stone. #ONEPIECE1060
Luffy is VISIBILY shown to be romanticising it. And we all know what Luffy's idea of Romance is! #ONEPIECE1060
To Luffy, the pirate King is the most free person in the seas, therefore Luffy needs to AT LEAST be the most free person in order to achieve his dream. Not strongest, not richest, but the FREEST.
Another crucial thing to Oda's mysteries, is carefully observing the seemingly irrelevant surrounding events. The answer can be hidden in plain sight. An example to this is Blackbeards "if the navy won't claim it, I will!" which was IMMEDIETLY followed by Coby on his way to Boa.
Similarly, I believe its important to carefully examine the scenes in which luffy's dream was said. With ASL, Luffys dream was delivered childishly as a "Well if you're gonna do this I'm gonna do THAT!" in a petty boastful way like "you're 7 warlords? Well I'm 8 warlords then!"
Since Ace/WB both wanted a sentimental goal (acceptance/family we have to instead examine Sabos dream more as the prequel to Luffy's dream. Especially since they were brought up in succession. Oden being Sabo's parallel is also key as BOTH wanted to travel the world
#ONEPIECE1060
I also believe Luffy's dream being brought up more often recently is relevant to the current events : The ever-growing progress in technology (Seraphims, cloning, DNA-manipulation, or even Uranus) . Luffy's dream MIGHT have been impossible before, but is now more possible.
There's a reason why Vegapunk was introduced 900 (!!) chapters ago but STILL hasn't appeared. His appearance and whereabouts are almost more tightly kept from the audience than Imu himself. This is because his appearance and revelations are a massive spoiler to end game material.
Now to the one piece treasure itself, we obviously know it will be very relevant to Luffy's dream. The one piece in Japanese can also be read as "hito tsunagi no daihiho" or the treasure that connects or links humans/poeple (hito like the hito-hito no mi)
Compiling all the clues:
It's a childish dream, befitting of Adventure-loving pirates, it 'sounds great', is self-serving and troublesome logistically, is normally IMPOSSIBLE, naturally comes AFTER circumnavigating the globe, and above all, a laughable idea.
#ONEPIECE1060
By also factoring in all the recent build up of Sci-fi elements, I think Luffy/Roger wanted to explore space. Not just the moon, but planet to planet. Your NORMAL REACTION is to Laugh at it and call it stupid. I think the OP treasure will connect humans (hito) to other planets
Whether it's a spaceship or heck even a portal of some kind is besides the point. The treasure could allow Luffy to travel wherever he wants, even to other planets. One thing is for certain, we all know Luffy won't just settle down and read newspapers after becoming Pirate King
He's the type to continuously look for adventure, and reaching Laugh Tale means achieving everything THIS (keyword, THIS world) has to offer. For Roger/Luffy, there's no reason to travel this world after completing the grandline, the best this world has
There is absolutely NO WAY for Oda to introduce an entire new world of piracy (space pirates) without ever having Luffy experience it. I'd imagine the end of One Piece being Luffy making a name for himself across the galaxy in a never ending adventure with infinite possibilities
To address the elephant in the room, no it doesn't mean Enel achieved Luffy's dream. Enel's dream was SPECIFICALLY the moon, which we know is just some ruins now. It's like comparing someone who wants to explore the entire grandline to someone just wanting to visit baratie
Final note
No I'm not claiming this is my idea or acting as if its a revelation. It's for sure been said many times before but I truly believe at the very LEAST it's the closest thing to the real answer.
The essence is there imo. None of that contradictory sake/party/food stuff
