Ibn al-Jawzī said:
"There is no greater foolishness than the claim of Fir’awn that he is Allah. Some have made a parable for it, they said:

Iblīs came to Fir’awn, who asked him who he was.
He said: I am Iblīs.
Fir’awn asked, what have you come to do?
Iblīs responded: I have come to see you and I am shocked by your insanity.
Fir’awn replied: And why is that?
He said: I am Iblīs.
Fir’awn asked, what have you come to do?
Iblīs responded: I have come to see you and I am shocked by your insanity.
Fir’awn replied: And why is that?
Iblīs said: I have opposed a creation like me, I refused to prostrate to him so I was banished and cursed. While you claim that you are our Lord! This is, by Allah, the greatest insanity."
