To be a man is not easy. It is one of the most arduous burden. The expectations are crazily high. From the age of 12, we are programmed to believe that we are ought to PROVIDE for everyone, and if we fail at that, we lose value. This is so much pressure.

Have you wondered why the fuss about getting rich amongst young boys? The pressure! Almost every hit song speaks reminds men to get the dough or stay low. “If you no get money hide ur face…” For many men who lack patience, they dabble into fraud, negative vices, just to make it
Most women do not turn twice to a broke man. Family do not respect broke men. Literally, he has to find a way to fit in. And his struggles are suppressed, because he’s a man. He can’t cry. He shouldn’t. He barely has time to realize how wounded he is. The reality of men.
And those who work legitimately, they have to cater for everyone. That’s why most men don’t know how to receive gifts. They’ve grown to think they don’t deserve help, but should deplete themselves to prove being a provider. It’s tasking.
Despite the modern hyper-villainization of men; the sheer detestation and the wave of radicalism against everything men do. The truth is that life would be difficult without men. Men fought wars. Men brought many inventions. Men protected and still protect women.
It is not easier to be a man. People need to understand this. Every gender has privileges and burdens — socially, culturally, etc.
When last did you check in on the men in your life? Your fathers, brothers, boyfriends, husbands, friends?
I don’t mean the routine performative check up. I mean actual probing to know how they really are. When last did you send them gifts for all they do?

Men commonly commit suicide than women. Do you know who the men in your life are doing mentally? Have you asked?
Today being international men’s day, I want to encourage every man. I know your struggles. The struggle to win, to perform, to bring results back home. You barely have time to sigh; always on the move. God bless your legitimate hustle.
If you’re into an illegal profession, retrace your steps. No matter the pressure, integrity matters most and there are things we should value more than money. Take it easy on yourself. Rely on God. Pray. Be a man after God’s heart.
You’re doing well. Give yourself some credit. Resist the pressure. Every human has intrinsic value and it has nothing to do with societal expectations. You work so hard, splurge on yourself.
Women, send random 5K, 10K, 50K to men in your lives right now. Tell them “just because you’re a man…”
Send this post to them and let them know that you see them, and you appreciate their presence. Happy international men’s day.
