7 BACKEND KEYWORDS SECRET
In this thread, I’ll show you how to get the best 7 backend keywords to help rank your books on first page of Amazon search.
Imagine having 10-20 great books on first page 😃 you don blow be that.
100 RT, 🧵 starts 👇🏽
Your 7 backend keywords hold upto 70% of your ranking, which leads to sales.
If you book isn’t ranked, no buyer will see it and that means nobody will buy.
So your 7 backend keyword is as important as the idea to start kdp.
Let us break it down below 👇🏽
1. USE UP THE SPACE
Each of the 7 backend spaces can take 50 characters (space inclusive). You MUST use all 50 characters and do so wisely.
Don’t leave any stone unturned. There are always words to use. Find them 👇🏽
2. KEYWORD REPETITION
This is simply a waste of space & opportunity. You don’t need to repeat keywords before they are ranked or indexed.
Infact kindlepreneur agrees that the lower it is in your backend, the higher the chances of ranking on that keyword.
Repetition is a waste
3. GRAMMAR CHECK
Your keyword doesn’t have to be a correct sentence. As long as you input what people are searching,
Amazon algorithm will join them & use them to rank your book according to the buyer’s search term.
Example; if your keyword is feeding dog with healthy food…
and a buyer searches healthy foods to feed dogs, your book will rank. The Amazon algorithm will join all the words together and place your book in front of the potential buyer since almost all the words appear in your backend, even though not arranged the way you did.
You can even have “Dog treat food for puppies cooking”
You see that this sentence doesn’t make sense but if a buyer searches any of the terms like “puppies treat” or “dog cooking”, your book will rank since it has those terms.
Forget grammar, just get the best keywords.
4. USE RELATED TERMS
If you are writing a book about daily workout, use other related terms like Pilates, yoga, exercise, isometric, etc.
Don’t just fill-up your spaces with weight loss. There are other rich words that buyers are searching instead of just weight loss.
5. UNDERSTAND LONG AND SHORT TAIL KEYWORDS
Short tail keywords are usually 2-3 rich words put together like diabetes diet, reverse diabetes, cancer cure, while long tail are a combination of 4 or more words like cancer diet recipes cookbook, easy 30 minutes recipes cookbook…
You will see that long tail keyword are usually used to niche down to a specific sect or category.
Long tail keywords are the best for your 7 backend spaces because when buyers search, they use the exact term for what they are looking for.
This will help you rank…
A buyer most likely won’t type cancer diet or cancer food. They’ll type cancer diet for an old man. Or cancer food for dying woman or foods for breast cancer patient.
You must understand that buyers usually search products using long tail keywords so use both short & long tail.
6. UNDERSTAND HOW BUYERS SEARCH
You see, your first step to getting it right is by knowing how buyers search. First put yourself in the buyer’s position, act like you are the one that wants to buy this book, and ask yourself “what will I type” so that this book can show up…
Once you start getting those terms, you are 30% into getting it right.
After noting those search terms, it’s time to check them using all keyword research tools like DS Amazon quick view, amz suggestion expander, SPT, etc…
7. BE SURE, NOT ASSUME
Keywords aren’t selected by just assumptions. You have to be sure that it is what people are searching.
You don’t just think it and use it. You must confirm that it is profitable before you input in your 7 backend spaces.
Use all free tools to crosscheck
8. DON’T IGNORE BESTSELLERS
The best sellers in your niche are not your competitors 😂😂😂
I mean they are, but they are not your mate. Don’t even try to compete with them, rather, learn from them and tap as much ideas as you can.
Look closely and examine their books…
Note their keywords and use them wisely.
In most cases, at least 4-5 best sellers usually have a common keyword that appears in their subtitles.
Don’t ignore those keywords, look closely and use them to fill up your 7 backend too, especially when you run out of keywords.
