You can't truly have freedom until you have these 3 types:
1. Financial
2. Personal
3. Philosophical
Here's what they are and how to achieve them:
We typically view freedom in the narrow window of Financial Freedom.
More recently, time freedom has become the rage.
But neither of these covers the whole spectrum.
In a recent podcast, I interviewed @theactionpod and we talked the 3 Pillars of Freedom.
Let's dig in:
@theactionpod 1. Financial Freedom
This means having enough passive income from investments (stock market, real estate, business, etc) to cover your expenses indefinitely.
@theactionpod 2. Personal freedom
This is having complete control of your schedule. As he says you can do “what you want, when you want, with who you want.”
@theactionpod 3. Philosophical freedom
This is the freedom to think beyond yourself (WE over ME… a little WeWork/Adam Neumann vibes anyone?). It’s thinking about fulfillment and helping others.
@theactionpod Each type of freedom can be achieved independently of the others, but there will always be a “drag” on happiness that will still leave you wanting more.
@theactionpod It’s only when you achieve freedom + balance that you can truly achieve the happiness you desire.
@theactionpod So, how do we achieve this balance?
• Patience
• Actively seeking balance
@theactionpod • Patience
We consistently expect direct feedback from our inputs.
We went to the gym, so we should lose weight.
We paid for the ad, so the sales should go up.
We corrected the employee, so their performance should improve.
@theactionpod The reality is, results are rarely linear.
James Clear demonstrated this clearly in this now maybe overused visual.
Only with the right dose of patience can you zoom out enough to find the freedom you’re looking for.

For any striver, it’s always “just a little more.”
The problem is, “just a little more” is a moving target that leads to a lack of balance.
@theactionpod To avoid this cycle, you need to:
1. Reflect regularly
2. Record your decisions
3. Have an accountability partner
@theactionpod Freedom is an elusive concept.
We may think we know what freedom is, but when “there” we realize it wasn’t what we expected.
This is why we must examine our actions and choose patience and balance.
When we become aligned in our Pillars of Freedom, results become inevitable.
@theactionpod If you enjoyed this, I go deeper on this concept here in my latest newsletter.
