Interestingly, the Talmud (Eikhah Rabbati, i, 31) blames Arabs for the Destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. It is said Vespasian had an Arab General named Pangar (Abgar). Talmud authors believe that it was Pangar who persuaded the Romans to destroy Jerusalem and its Holy Temple.
In the Original source, the Arab General is named Abgar (?bgr/أبجر). A very popular Old Arabic name. I'm not sure why some English sources write the name as 'Pangar'.
Arab auxiliaries served in the Roman army. They tortured & killed the wife of the High Priest Joshua son of Gamala:
"May I not live to see the Redemption, if I did not see her whose hair was tied to the tails of Arabs’ horses and they would make her run from Jerusalem to Lydd".
