Hinduism has a deep connection with nature. Trees are worshipped in Hinduism. Planting a tree is also considered a virtue. The importance of all the elements of nature including the tree has been discussed in all the religious scriptures

Peepal tree - is one of the most worshipped tree of Bharat. In Hinduism, the peepal tree represent the three supreme gods- Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva.
The roots represent Brahma, the trunk represent Vishnu and the leaves of the tree represent Shiva.
Banyan tree- is generally said to be the humble abode of Bhagwan Krishna. Banyan trees are always found either near a temple or their is a shrine below the tree itself. It is also the national tree of our country and has a large foliage which provides a vast field of shade.
Bael Tree- is a very sacred tree of Bharat and is associated with the almighty Bhagwan Shiva.
The bael leaves are always offered to Shiva. The religious ceremonies are considered incomplete if the Bael leaves and fruits are not offered to him.
Ashoka Tree- It is one of the most important trees for Hindus The tree is associated with Indra. Ashoka means without grief or one which gives no grief.
In Vamana purana, use of the flowers of Asoka is recommended for worshipping.`Its flowers are used in temple decoration.
The tree is also a symbol of love and dedicated to Kamadeva who is supposed to have used the flowers as one of the five arrows in his quiver. The tree is regarded as a guardian of female and the belief comes from Ramayana.
Ravana abducted Sita Ji and forcibly kept her in Lanka for a long time .She spent those years in a grove of Ashoka trees and remained safe
Mango Tree- The leaves and fruits of the sacred mango tree are used in many religious ceremonies. The mango tree has been cited in the epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata and even in the Puranas. The fruit of the mango tree is an emblem of purity, love and fertility
The leaves of the mango tree are always hung by a string express the auspiciousness of of any occasion.
The Neem tree - is one of the most respected trees in Bharat, due to its innumerous benefits. Neem has medicinal properties and is used to treat many diseases. It is also associated with goddess Durga and many people believe that neem trees help in keeping evil spirits at bay.
The Sacred Banana Tree-
is used in many religious ceremonies. The leaves are hanged near the entrance to mark an auspicious occasion and are also used as plates to give prasad. The fruit of the banana tree is offered to gods and goddesses, particularly Shri Ganesha and Vishnu ji
Coconut Tree-
In South India, the coconut tree is considered the most sacred tree. Most of the people there have planted a coconut tree in their houses. Coconut is used many religious ceremonies of the hindus and is even distributed as prasad
Sandalwood Tree- is also considered to be a holy and sacred tree. The fragrant wood of the tree is made into a paste, which is then used in worshipping Bhagwan Vishnu and Shiva. The paste of the tree is considered very pure and holy.
Kadamb Tree-
Bhagwan Krishna used to play his flute under the Kadamb tree. All the activites in his childhood, were done near this tree. The kadamb tree is a favorite among many gods and goddesses. Maa durga is believed to reside in the Kadamba forest.
Champa Tree- is a dazzling and sweetly scented yellow flower, used in religious ceremonies and worship of gods. It is considered to be sacred to Shree Krishna. It is believed to be a part of one of the five darts of flowers of Kama deva.
Parijaat Tree ( Kintoor)-
Parijaat tree is the name of one tree and not a whole species. This tree is found in Kintoor in Uttar Pradesh. It is the male tree of the boabab genus and is found in parts of Africa and Australia. These trees are said to be very unique
and the one found in Kintoor is estimated to be 1000 to 5000 years old. This unique tree is associated with Mahabharata and is said to be growing on Kunti’s ashes. This tree is believed to have been brought from heaven by Krishna.
It is believed that a person who plants one Peepal, one Banyan,one Neem, three Bael, and five Mango trees, he is a virtuous soul.
