1. The Cabinet has agreed that Sabah and Sarawak can decide on projects in East Malaysia valued under RM50mil, without needing to go through Putrajaya.
PM Anwar Ibrahim hopes this will resolve the delays in the implementation of several projects due to administrative red tape.
2. "Walaupun ada JKR di Sabah dan Sarawak, tapi kata putus itu adalah di Putrajaya."
"Walaupun peruntukan besar diberikan tetapi peruntukan itu pun tak dapat dipenuhi kerana pentadbiran mengikut peraturan biasa terpaksa merujuk ke persekutuan."
3. "Jadi MOF setuju untuk menetapkan mana-mana projek di bawah RM50 juta diserahkan hampir sepenuhnya kepada Sabah dan Sarawak untuk melaksanakan."
"Ini dengan mematuhi peraturan-peraturan kewangan, tetapi keputusan boleh dibuat di Kota Kinabalu dan Kuching."
4. He says, he trusts the wisdom and leadership in Sabah and Sarawak to implement the lagging projects.
Anwar will also be chairing a meeting in Kuching on the MA63 agreement at the end of this month, and will invite the Sarawak premier and Sabah CM to join in.
