We are operating and account while openly disabled. And it helps us to navigate this but talking about it.
We do our best to make clear, when we fail to navigate a situation with someone that it’s *both* of us.

Communication is Always a “collaborative skill check” it’s like playing a catch.
It’s not just about player B’s ability to catch the ball. It’s also about player A’s ability to throw the ball in a way that player B *can* catch it.

We fully 100% admit that we are not the best at throwing that ball.
We accept responsibility for our limitations. We own our abilities and disabilities.

Whenever we mark a toss and it doesn’t connect we make clear that we failed to WITH the receiver.
But even when we are clear on this … just the other day we explained to someone that we blocked someone because we didn’t have the spoons or ability to navigate the situation. and they said “Sounds like a you problem” and we … are just like … yes … that is what we said.
We own that we can’t navigate every situation with skill and mastery.
We accept our limitations.
We conserve our spoons.
We limit triggers.
And we feel guilty when we have to block … but we need to regulate our environment and we make clear it is both of us, not them.

Thank you for letting my write this.
It helps us process to write this down.
We do our best. We can’t be everything for everyone …
We need to set boundaries and limits and accept our faults and be open about them.
