On the night of 16/17 January in 1941, Subhas Chandra Bose left India in modern India’s greatest escape. He crossed Afghanistan, Soviet Russia and walked up the steps of German Foreign Office in Berlin on April 3 disguised as Orlando Mazzotta (as seen in the pic). 1/

While Netaji was on his way to Berlin, Britain's Special Operations Executive was ordered to kill him. No such order was ever given to target any other Indian leader as none posed a threat to British Raj like Bose did.
