To find where Web3 is heading you only need to look at Polygon (@0xPolygon).
The road to a billion users and global adoption is why Polygon is a chain you need to pay close attention to.
The Ultimate Guide to Polygon: 🧡
Incredible business development, and progress towards the most innovative technologies to bring the ultimate scaling solutions to Ethereum, hello Polygon.
This thread will be split in two sections:
- High level overview of Polygon.
- How to navigate the Polygon ecosystem.
High level overview of Polygon:
- What is Polygon?
- Why is this important?
- How does Polygon work?
- Where is Polygon developing?
- Who’s on the team?
- Business development
- Tokenomics
1: What is Polygon?
Polygon is a β€œL2” or β€œSidechain”, a scaling solution for Ethereum.
Polygon aim to release technologies that will enable Ethereum to scale to billions of users.
2: Why is this important?
Important because as Ethereum becomes more decentralised it becomes slower and less scalable.
For mass adoption and global use Ethereum needs scaling solutions to enable dApps to function for their intended use.
3: How does Polygon work?
The current iteration of Polygon technology that we are familiar with is the Polygon Proof-of-Stake chain.
You have a copy-paste of the Ethereum chain that gives up some decentralisation for more scalability, speed, and cheaper transactions.
β€œPolygon PoS is a solution that achieves unprecedented transaction speed and cost savings by utilizing side-chains for transaction processing.
At the same time, POS ensures asset security using the robust Plasma bridging framework and a decentralized network of POS validators”
4: What is Polygon developing?
Polygon is hard at work trying to bring the ultimate solutions, so let’s look into the following:
- Polygon Supernets
- Polygon Zero
- Polygon Miden
- Polygon zkEVM
- Polygon ID (Privacy)
- Polygon Edge (Framework)
Polygon Supernets:
Allows you to create your own powerful blockchain network.
Helps bootstrap decentralisation.
Removes the hassle of maintaining a blockchain.
Polygon Zero:
Unique Layer 2 scaling solution which will use Plonky2 to create a scalable ZK L2.
This would allow ZK proofs to be faster than anyone else, allowing horizontal scaling.
High throughput and extremely low fees whilst offering both rollup and vallidum modes.
Polygon Miden:
Another L2 scaling solution which uses zero-knowledge technology to take thousands of transactions into just one.
Ethereum security, low fees, and high throughput.
Polygon zkEVM:
A zk-Rollup allowing frictionless user experience and the security of Ethereum.
Another development on the road to helping scale Ethereum.
Polygon ID (Privacy):
A blockchain native identity system enabling privacy to empower users to make trusted interactions with Web3.
β€œA new class of technological solutions for a censorship resistant digital identity.”
Polygon Edge (Framework):
A modular extensible framework to allow users to build both public or private Ethereum compatible blockchains.
5: Who’s on the team?

6: Business development
Polygon are famed for having some of the best relationships and outperform everyone when it comes to business development.
Have a look how:
7: Tokenomics
I’ll keep this brief as the team are looking to redesign their tokenomics so that they have a token that has utility across all their solutions:
Chart 1: Breakdown of the MATIC token supply.
Chart 2: Release schedule of MATIC tokens.
How to navigate the Polygon ecosystem:
- How to get on to the ecosystem
- Exploring the ecosystem
- Exciting projects
1: How to get on to the ecosystem
You can bridge your funds to Polygon by using the following bridges:
- @StargateFinance
- @SynapseProtocol
Adding Polygon to your wallet:
You can either use @MetaMask UI to simply add it or you can do it manually entering the following.
2: Exploring the ecosystem
