New Everton gaffer Sean Dyche has the voice of a chain-smoking phone operator at a rural minicab firm.
And it turns out his gravelly voice might be down to an unusual party trick.
According to an old teammate, Dyche used to eat worms in training...
Former Bristol City defender Soren Anderson explained:
"Maybe the voice comes from eating worms. Every time we trained, he used to eat earthworms.
"It was horrible, I’ve never experienced anything like it. It was like: 'whoops, there’s an earthworm' and then he ate it."
Anderson reckons Dyche did it to prove his teammates were wimps for complaining about the creepy-crawlies on the training ground.
"It was a bit disgusting and very strange," he added.
Dyche has denied actually eating worms, claiming he'd just suck on them to wind up his teammates.
"You get one of them nice, big, juicy worms, hang it out your mouth just on the edge there."
Either way, pretty weird...
We can't promise Sean Dyche will dig up the Goodison turf in search of a half-time snack, but if he does, it'll be in our free weekly email.
It's a 3min rundown of football's wildest stories.
