The split-testing process is actually quite simple once you've got the 3 core aspects of your flows down
These are:
>Good copy
>Design optimised for deliverability & CTR
>Solid offers
These are:

Once these are in order, you're ready to test:

The best flow to test these in is your welcome series
Start by varying the offers in your flows
Then run some direct tests

I've found with our pre-purchase flows that condensing the sending period works really well
Try sending the first email rapidly
Might be shocked by the results

We use a conditional split at the beginning of our abandoned checkout flows
Test being aggressive here
And you'll be surprised by how well it performs

So important that what you test for here is likely to achieve a statistical significance
Testing slightly different fonts probably isn't worth your time
Test these instead:
>Short vs long
>Formal vs informal (emoji's etc.)
> Personalise vs not personalised

Here we like to test the following:
>Long vs short emails
>Highly designed vs simple design
>DR vs brand copy

We've found typically a mix of long and short emails works best
Simple design usually wins
And a mix of DR copy and brand copy performs best
Your results will vary heavily on what type of brand you're working with
