Me : What are your Sugar levels/HBA1c ?"
Pt : HBA1c-5.8,FBS 89.
Me : Are you on a diet ?
Pt : Yes,800 calorie diet.

Normally, your body burns sugar for energy.But if you don't have enough carbohydrate in your body for energy, your body burns fat instead and makes substances called ketones.The ketones end up in your blood/urine.
This is Starvation Ketosis and not Diabetic Ketoacidosis.

Treatment is to Eat proper meals and hydration.
And avoid ANY DIET BELOW 1200 CALORIES .
An ADULT Female NEEDS ABSOLUTE MINIMUM 1200 CAL and an Adult MALE NEEDS 1500 CAL TO STAY HEALTHY.
