"Power vs. Force" is a book by Dr. David R. Hawkins that explores the nature of human consciousness and its relationship to personal empowerment and spiritual growth.
Here are my key takeaways from my favourite book:
1. There is a hierarchy of levels of consciousness: According to Hawkins, consciousness can be measured on a scale from 0 to 1000. The lowest level of consciousness is shame, while the highest level is enlightenment.
Different emotions and attitudes correspond to different levels of consciousness, with higher levels associated with greater positivity, creativity, and empowerment.
2. Consciousness affects our lives: Our level of consciousness affects not only our own experiences, but also the experiences of those around us. By raising our own consciousness, we can positively influence others and the world as a whole.
3. We have the power to choose our consciousness: While our level of consciousness is influenced by our biology and environment, we have the power to consciously choose our thoughts, emotions, and attitudes.
4. Power is different from force: Hawkins distinguishes between two ways of exerting influence: power and force. Power comes from higher levels of consciousness and is characterized by compassion, empathy, and creativity.
Force, on the other hand, comes from lower levels of consciousness and is characterized by manipulation, coercion, and violence.
5. Love is the ultimate power: According to Hawkins, love is the most powerful force in the universe, and is associated with the highest levels of consciousness. By cultivating love and compassion in ourselves and others, we can transform ourselves and the world.
That's a wrap!
