First off, ChatGPT is the fastest growing product ever. So distribution is solved.

Plug-ins solves that issue. Itβs a way for OpenAI to give themselves and developers the tooling required to give ChatGPT access to real-time data, services and the internet in general.
Now you can do things like looking up recent events and have ChatGPT weigh in on that. You can connect it with Zapier and automate tasks. You can have it order food from Instacart.
This is just the beginning, in the next few months we will see a lot of companies arriving here

What will happen with their first class software? Will eventually most big apps/services transform to API layers?
From the leak in the second tweet, we can indeed see many many plug-ins already built. And the impact of some of them will be monumental.

If ChatGPT in-fact becomes the one stop shop for most of our daily digital interactions, it will soon replace Google, the current starting point of the internet for most people.
Personally, google is already feeling like an old slow version of some tech I used to use,

I think google will be around, but they must get their act together fast to be able to still stay relevant.
