If you look at it from a pure objective pov, Griezmann is legit the greatest player of this generation.
I still remember at one point of time he had the highest attribute points in FIFA'20 because of his high stats in attack, midfield and defense. And it was completely true.
EA had finally got something right. He can defend better than Messi, he can midfield better than Ronaldo, he can attack better than Ramos.
He was basically a white Vidal who could score.
Then you look at him as a person. Always respected every culture. Stand up guy for all his
teammates. Still remember how he was the only high profile player to stand up for Fati when Fati was compared to a black robber running from the police.
Griezmann acknowledges when he made a mistake, and owns up to it. Remember when he accidentally did blackface because he
didn't understand the implications behind it and was just trying to pay tribute to his favorite NBA stars?
He's a complete family man outside of the pitch, and has probably the greatest family of all time. And despite his busy schedule, he's always ensured his wife gives
birth on April 8th every year. That's how you know he truly cares about his family.
He's one of the few white players who can keep up with the black superstars in French national team. That truly proves how good Griezmann used to be.
Which brings us to last few years.
What happened to Griezmann? Yes, he had a massive fall off since joining Barcelona.
But I personally believe his downfall had already started before he joined Barcelona. It started because the football world was against him, especially Perez
Perez stole 2 Ballon D'Ors from Griezmann, one in 2016 and one in 2018. All I'm saying is, if the new 2022 rules of Ballon D'Or were in use in 2016 and 2018, Griezmann would have more Ballon D'Ors than Zidane.
Perez began the downfall, and Bartomeu continued it.
He made 3 coach changes right after Griezmann joined. Imagine going from playing in a defensive team your whole life, where you were their Messi making everything up-front tick, to joining an attacking team where they already have their own Messi and they keep changing coaches.
Barto made the wrong investment in Griezmann by buying him when we had no place for him, just like with Coutinho and ruined one of the greatest Primes of all time
If everything was right in the world, Griezmann would have won a UCL and Ballon D'Or with Atleti
by now. But no, instead he'll go down as a "Streets will remember" type player instead of what he truly was, the greatest French player of all time.
So that brings us to the final part of the thread. The present, and the future
The Present:
Griezmann returned to Atleti anf struggled to get back his form for a year. But this season he's completely transformed into what many would say is as good as previous prime, if not better in many ways.
He's easily the La Liga Player of the Year
And even though Atleti won win any trophies this year due to their poor start, the world got to witness the greatness of Griezmann, again on the biggest stage.
This time fitting into the midfield covering for Pogba and Kante, expertly, as France won the WC Silver Medal
The Future:
Griezmann is vibing again, but I cant tell you his future. Simeone is extremely unpredictable and you just don't know when he'll click and when he wont
But one thing is for sure, Griezy will give his 100% until he can't anymore. But he'll always be a treat watch
Conclusion- Barca tried their absolute best to ruin this man's career, but he's back thus proving once and for all - Form is Temporary, Class is Permanent.
And Griezmann is the book definition of Class
Thank you Griezmann πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ
