1. Use storytelling to create a connective 'manifesto'. It's not a Web3 game but @Azuki stood for something from the get-go. They built a world based on common values.
2. YOU set out the initial values, but you involve the community when creating shared experiences/rituals.

3. Recognize and empower early 'fans' to become ambassadors and/or mods. Incentivize them with social status, perks, and access.
4. Your game will have 10+ different segments/personas. How do you align their goals? By doubling down on your shared values, goals, etc. (manifesto!)

5. Want to attract actual gamers? Drop the Web3 jargon. Less talk about Web3 features, more talk about lore/gameplay.
6. Use community feedback, don't just 'listen'. Too many talk the talk but then turn around and internally scoff at the community. Walk the walk.

7. Define the limits community feedback can have on game design. Yes, you need to go to work with the feedback but it's a balancing act.
8. Show off the game features OFTEN. You don't need it to be 90% ready, 60% is good enough. Tell your perfectionist team members it'll be ok.

9. Overcommunicate. When you drop the ball, own it and face your community transparently. If you're unsure to update your community about something, you probably should.
10. Core team members build up their social media. People are inherently drawn to other people. Your odds of success increase drastically when you 'humanize' your project.
11. Work with creators who share your values. Find up-and-coming talent looking to get reps in.

12. Piggy-back off of other web3 (and web2!) communities. Join shared Twitter Spaces, in-person events, conferences, etc. Yes, I know you're all overworked/tired but this pays off massively.
13. Just be good people. Genuinely care about your die-hards. It builds social capital.

14. Study 5-10 winning web3 communities. Find the winning patterns in what they (don't) do. Use their template. Don't blindly copy, but you also don't need to reinvent the wheel.
15. Selling NFTs triggers (irrational) community expectations. And 90% of teams can't cope.

16. Stay consistent. Obvious? Yes.
But you're going to get pulled into a million directions that risk derailing your consistency.
Consistent weekly updates, gameplay, class info, lore sneaks peeks, etc.

Clearly, all this takes a massive amount of energy.
And not only that...
It takes vision and leadership.
Without it, even the best product will disappoint.
One thing is certain:
Invest in your community and you'll EXPONENTIALLY increase your odds of a successful launch.
