Why south India is not a natural ally of BJP.
1. There is no buffer UC castes like baniya and kshatriya down south. brahmins are alone. and mostly hated as much as they are worshipped.
2. Islam has entered south through trade, there is simply no historical greivance of conquest
of Islamic kings/sultanates in south India
3. South India was the true jewel of the British Empire and they lavished care and respect on oppressed castes of south India - in Tamil Nadu they gave panchama land to depressed classes (aka Dalits), in Madras Presidency and surrounding
areas the kind of progress made by non-brahmins is unthinkable elsewhere.
4. The Western educated Mysore King created colleges, dams, schools, various institutions, factories AND MOST IMPORTANTLY reservations for non-brahmins that broke open the scholarly vigour of our people in
every field.
5. If Kerala is progressive today, its due to the efforts of Periyar and other anti-caste activists who tore apart the brahminical rules keeping dalits and avarnas out of streets, temples and such like.
6. Apart from this historically brahmins reached south india
last after going everywhere else. So their influence is recent and can be combated. Plus they are not in large numbers like they are in say UP (11%!!!). In Tamil Nadu especially brahmins are just 1% from what I hear.
7. Historically brahmins have faced extreme opposition from
Lingayats, Jains, Kodavas and other dominant communities who refused to accept their superiority.
8. If in South India a place of worship was destroyed, it was done so by brahmins, so many Jain Basadis and temples have been converted into brahminical temples, this is their
history and they cannot deny it. In fact brahmins themselves acknowledge this history. In this case Shalva Pille Iyengar is questioning the Chamundeshwari temple of Mysore. He has proof that it was the temple of a Jain Yakshi (nature spirit).

9. There is a huge anti-caste history in south india spanning buddhism, jainism, lingayatism, and continuing into dravidianism of today. these are a long unbroken chain of anti-caste warriors spanning the entire history of brahminism in the south.
10. Every part of south india has great poets and writers, seers and leaders who were from non-brahmin backgrounds, who were anti-caste and worked for the progress of our people. Be it Rashtra Kavi Kuvempu, Basavanna, Akkamahadevi, Rani Abbakka, Krishna Raja Wodeyar, Karnataka
has as rich a history as say Kerala with Narayana Guru and Tamil Nadu with Iyothee Das, Periyar, Annadurai and many others. But Karnataka's anti-caste history is 900 years old and very few places can say that about themselves.
11. Non-halal meat is not used as a bugbear here.
When I grew up in Mysore every butcher we went to was non-muslim then I came to bangalore where every butcher was muslim, (except for the christians who butcher pork) how is it anyone's concern what religion the butcher follows?
12. North Indian Hindus try their hardest to appropriate us and our culture but they simply cannot. Its not as simple as copying karva chauth of punjabis. you want to be like us? you liked kantara? then let me tell you of bobbaraya, a muslim who is worshipped as patron saint of
mogaveeras(one of the fishing community). born of arab and bunt lineage he was a trader and a great man about whom stories are told to this day. He is our god. dare you participate in his worship?
heard of baba budangiri? he was a muslim seer who brought coffee to south india.
an entire range of mountains is named after him in karnataka. we worship him. now what? dare you worship him?
13. Ayyappa temple was actually a tribal temple. The prasada given at his temple is given to girls on their first menstruation. It was apparently his favorite.
Women were banned in the temple only after the 90s. That is not its history at all. There are many such stories about Tirupati and many other "hindu" temples that north indian UCs (along with our very own brahmins) are dying to appropriate.
14. Tipu probably had tribal ancestry
Karnataka's anti-hindi assertion has started after years and decades of bowing to hindi imperialism while being envious of TN's independence. Its time now to teach these people a lesson. They are playing with fire and its gonna fire back in their face.
May the ancestors bless us
@PrasadAsmita even Tipu gave money to temples and gave donations to his favorite srirangapatna temple just before going to any war.
Our dear Bobbaraya. Seen her with Koragajja.
Koragajja is a bhoota from the koraga tribe (they are ST) who became a god of good luck who is worshipped before the starting of any new activity. koragajja is propiated with alcohol and toddy as well as cigarettes and meat :) NI brahmins are welcome to try to worship him :)
Sycreticism in the south is not ganga jamuna "tehzeeb". It is muslim mridangam players with "hindu" dancers, it is visiting churches because you believe in christ the redeemer (my grandma did this and she was as hindu as can be). Syncreticism is Bobbaraya.
@vaishbhaskaran @James46344021 I mean you do know that all these castes are seen as shudras and do not fulfill the same role as kshatriyas or baniyas do. no matter how much they larp brahmins think of them as "low". even Nairs.
@PrasadAsmita done with this discussion. all this UC high culture talk is wasted on me. I dont care for it at all. good day to you.
