1/ As we’ll uncover in the next EP, the Nazi Hollow Earth + Thule obsession didn’t end w/ the Third Reich. Allow me to introduce you to the wild & odious story of Ernst Zündel, pseudonymous German author of “UFOs—Nazi Secret Weapon?” & publisher of Canadian Neo-Nazi pamphlets
2/ Born in the Black Forest in ‘39, Zündel grew up w/ fine art aspirations like his hero Hitler. After graduating from an academy & working as a commercial artist briefly, he emigrated to Canada in the ‘50s, choosing it bc of the absence of a military draft (curious for a Nazi).
3/ In his 20s & thru the ‘60s, Ernst campaigned for a “unified Germany”, speaking at Kiwanis & Rotary Clubs & working his way into the Liberal Party machine. V interestingly, he opposed Pierre Trudeau as a PM candidate at the ‘68 convention, withdrawing following his speech
4/ In the '70s, he changed tact. Stymied in his efforts to use the Liberal Party as a vessel for his fascistic & nationalistic war-mongering efforts, Zündel wrote & published “UFOs—Nazi…” in ‘75, launching the book at a Toronto psychic book fair. He put a swastika on the cover…

6/…spoke openly about the impressionability of ppl w/ a deep desire to believe 👽 Zündel used the popularity of his book speculating about Nazi UFO research (flügelrads) & colonization of the Inner Earth to launch a Neo-Nazi publishing house called “Samisdat” (sic; from Russian)
7/ He & his CaNazi cohort (see what I did there?) began printing & selling 100ks of pamphlets & broadsides a year denying the Holocaust & celebrating Hitler—they sold cassettes of Nazi choral music, marches, & speeches (who wants to bet Gordo L*ddy was one of their customers?).
8/ The Holocaust denialism specifically resulted in their mailing privileges getting revoked by the Canuck Post & charges of "hateful material" brought against Zündel, which he & his 💩-y skinheads tried to turn into a referendum on the Holocaust by calling myriad wacko witnesses
9/ I gotta save some of this for the EP that’s about to drop, but one last crumb to whet the appetite: Samisdat & Zündel tried to organize a chartered flight to Antarctica (w/ a swastika on the tail fin) to search for the Pole Holes & Hitler’s base—tix advertised at $9,999.00.
10/ In another article I found, Zündel speculated that the New Zealand tourist plane that crashed in Antarctica during the Mt. Erebus disaster was struck down by Hitler's foo fighters or sound cannons. A yucky manipulation of a disaster where 257 people lost their lives.
11/ If you wanna hear about his Toronto compound & the pipe bomb attack, you'll have to listen to the EP. But there were serious, lasting ramifications from Zündel's work—he was charged 2x & ultimately acquitted by the CA Supreme Court, striking down the "false news" code.
12/ Zündel's 🤮 crusade undid the legal protections against his variety of Nazi-organizing-by-mail. The Canadian judicial system washed their hands of him— he was extradited to Germany (still a citizen), imprisoned for 5 years, then released. He died in the Black Forest in 2017🖕
