There is a concept in Yoga called Pancha Kosha - the 5 levels or planes of existence.
We learn many western psychological frameworks in courses like MBA & sociology but never this! - Why?
Want to know this profound concept in very simple words? - read this short thread!
Annamay Kosh (Physical): This is your Physical body and 5 basic senses. Can be maintained by healthy diet & exercise.
Pranamaya Kosha (life Energy plane): Non matter Life force energy within. This needs breath work like pranayama to maintain.
Manomay Kosh (Mental/Emotional plane): These are intangibles like thoughts & emotions. These are maintained by conscious self awareness & mindfulness techniques
Vijnanamay Kosh (Wisdom/Intellectual plane): This is a collection of inner knowledge gained over time by managing emotions. Maintained by active inner inquiry & seeking answers
Anandamay Kosh (Bliss plane): The ones that have experienced say that this is a state of perpetual Inner joy, material detachment and interconnectedness with the infinite consciousness. One needs to have a complete mastery over other planes to aspire for this one.
