YOUTUBE SHORTS is one of the easiest ways to get organic sales for your ecom brand in 2023
But 95% of brand owners have no idea how to use it properly
Here's how... (full guide🧡)
Step 1: Understanding the algorithm
Out of TikTok, IG Reels and YT Shorts
YT Shorts definitely is the weirdest / hardest to understand out of the 3
YouTube pushes videos exponentially around 15 minutes after they release, then the views flatline
This flatline of on your video can last up to 2 weeks before they randomly rebound again
This is the true quality of your video is tested
Some videos will stay stagnant while others shoot past 1M views
YouTube is finicky - you just have to keep posting through it
Step 2: The 'rules' of YT Shorts
- Post at the same time daily
- Only post 1 video per day
- Use a YouTube trending sound
You should also keep your video short - I've found that 11-15 second videos work the best, but this could be different for you (TEST IT)
Also, when you post to youtube you should comment your CTA under your video and pin it
A lot of people watching YouTube shorts open the comments so this is a great way to get a ton of views to your site
Don't put the CTA in the description (no one reads these)
Step 3: Branding
On TT + IG, trends and 'one-take' videos perform the best
On YT Shorts, well thought out videos that tell a story perform the best
- Series videos
- Skit videos
- Experiment videos
Perform well on Shorts
You need to be telling your brand's story
Identify your missions and your villain (problem/bad alternative) to use in your content
If you want inspiration, MiniKatana is a brand that is killing it with YT Shorts right now
Step 4: YouTube SEO
SEO is huge on YouTube
Include both high and low competition keywords in your videos and descriptions (but not in a spammy way)
Your captions should invite clicks to
Captions like "there's no way this happened..." etc work well
Step 5: Long-form videos
When you start getting traction with your shorts, start creating long-form videos
Why?
Your audience gets more intimate with your brand in a ten-minute video as opposed to a fifteen second short
This creates a deeper connection than shorts ever will
For long-form content:
- Social experiments
- Having people 'try' your product
- Challenge videos
All work well
You can also create short-form clips out of your long-form videos to repurpose all over social media
Btw, if you want to build an Etsy brand to $50k/mo before the end of 2024
I can help you get there
