Over 80% of my portfolio is made up of ETFs.
It's hard to beat proven returns, minimal time effort, and easy diversification.
Here are the top 3:
VOO/VTI - S&P 500/Total US Market
Percentage of portfolio: 32%
The dynamic duo of the ETF world.
These are about 86% similar by weight, so counting them as one holding.
(will likely consolidate to one in the future)
QQQ - Nasdaq 100
Percentage of portfolio: 18%
This has grown to be one of my favorites. The plan is to reach 100 shares and then sell covered calls.
If selling options isn't your thing, QQQM is equivalent with a cheaper expense ratio.
VUG - Vanguard Growth
Percentage of portfolio: 8%
Similar to QQQ, VUG is the main growth holding in my Roth IRA (has a cheaper expense ratio).
VUG is also slightly more diversified, which I see as a positive for a position I plan to hold till I'm 60.
