It is true that the the scriptures say that the Purusha is made of only 4 varnas & there is no mention of a 5th varna or ppl outside of hindu society. But it is obvious to any observer that some groups are more integrated into the sanatani narrative than others. The question is -
1) Is this because Sanatani society was exclusionary? (as many claim)
2) Is it because Sanatani society was Racist? (as many claim)
3) Is this simply because of temporary bad luck for some communities and the forces of history? (as is very likely)
4) Is this because some groups chose to live on the periphery because they were liberty minded, were happy with the economic deal they had made with Sanatani society and didn't want any more headache rituals (and were therefore not fully integrated)? (also very likely)
5) Is it because they had a different spiritual system that ran parallel to Vaidikam and were therefore kept at an arms length by polite society? (as some claim)
6) Is it because these groups comprised of people who had been excommunicated for crimes & sins and we never designed
a mechanism by which their children could return to the fold? (as is likely in the days when the nature over nurture debate leaned heavily towards nature)
Disintegratists stress on points 1 and 2. Integratists should stress on points 3,4,5 and 6.
Simultaneously, integrationists should put some energy into designing –
1. A brand-new ritual mechanism to consciously bring interested peripheral Hindu communities into the Sanatani fold with full Mutual Respect, which can also be used for GW.
2. A brand-new ritual mechanism that would be common to all interested Hindus. This could be an annual common ritual offered at temples that leads to the wearing of a recognizable locket or bracelet.
Bharat is the interaction btwn the local & the civilizational. It is vital that the local does not become anti-civilizational (pure pagan). It is equally vital that the civilizational does not become anti-local (pure Abrahamic). Bharat is the double helix that avoided both fates.
