Gmail has 1.8 billion active users.
But only a few know how to use Gmail effectively.
Here are 10 must-known Gmail hacks that you shouldn't miss:
1. Send a Confidential Email
Gmail Confidential Mode lets you send emails that expire after a set time or can be revoked at any time.
This also prevents recipients from forwarding, copying, printing, or downloading the message or attachments.
2. View Emails Offline
Gmail lets you store recent emails offline to read and write even without an internet connection.
β†’ Go to Gmail Settings > Offline.
β†’ Check the Enable offline email checkbox.
β†’ Choose your sync settings and click Save Changes.
3. Schedule Email to Send Later
You can schedule emails in Gmail to be sent at a later date and time.
Instead of hitting the Send button,
Click on the tiny upside-down arrow next to it and select Schedule send.
4. Enable Auto Advance
Gmail Auto Advance takes you directly to the next email after you delete or archive one, saving you clicks.
This helps me tremendously when I want to clean my inboxes.
5. Use The Right-Click Menu
Gmail has its own right-click menu with a bunch of options.
Some of the interesting options include Forward as an attachment, Move to tab, Reply all, and a search option to find related emails.
6. Increase Undo Send Duration
You can increase the undo send duration to 30 seconds by going to Settings > General > Undo Send and selecting 30 seconds.
This can be helpful if you need more time to think about your sent email and make changes.
7. See Emails From All Accounts in One Place
If you have multiple email accounts, you don’t have to switch between them to keep up with emails.
You can gain access to the other accounts to receive emails.
Go to Settings > Accounts and Import > Add a mail account
8. Write Emails Faster
Gmail's Smart Compose feature can help you write faster by completing sentences as you type.
To enable it, go to Settings > See all settings > Smart Compose and click Writing suggestions on.
9. Use Labels to Organize
Gmail labels are like tags that you can add to emails to categorize them, so you can find them easily later.
You can add multiple labels to an email and search for emails by label.
10. Snooze Emails To Check Later
Gmail's Snooze feature lets you hide emails from your inbox until a later time, so you can focus on what's most important now.
β†’ Open the email or select multiple emails.
β†’ Click the clock icon at the top.
β†’ Pick a date & time option.
That's it. Was it helpful?
