The story of an Afghan mujahid refreshing the memories of Hanzala رضي الله عنه
During the Soviet war in 1980s, there was an Afghan mujahid who was young and handsome in his early 20s.
It was his wedding night and he got his nikkah done with his cousin.
It was night time and just when the nikkah finished and everyone was putting henna (mehendi) on the groom’s hand (Afghan culture), his mujahideen friends came and told him that they’re leaving for the operation against the Soviets.
They told him that it’s your first wedding night, you should stay and not join us.
He insisted saying: “No, I won’t hold back but would be more happy in joining you guys”
(putting his garland around his neck on the ground, he went to say his farewell to his newly wed wife)
“I’m leaving for the cause of Allah ﷻ. If I return back, you will be my wife but if I don’t, please do not wait for me.”
His wife whilst she was still in her wedding dress replied: “ I would always wait for you, you were my childhood love.”
He left with his friends in his
white peran tumban that he had worn for his nikkah.
When the war begun, he was the first mujahid to get martyred taking several bullets on his chest.
His white wedding clothes were all stained with blood.
Even his martyred body wasn’t spared by the Soviets, his body was tied off with a humvee and dragged on the streets.
When the news reached his mother, she praised and thanked Allah ﷻ for choosing her son to be among the martyrs.
These are the real Afghan women who sacrificed
for the sake of Allah ﷻ and were happy in doing so.
His wife as per her words, never married again.
Many people told her to re-marry but she said “I’ll rather die with his love in my heart than marry any other guy.”
Every mujahid used to have utmost respect for his wife.
Later on she dedicated her time in treating the wounds of mujahideen in battlefields and cooking for them etc.
When the civil war started, there was complete chaos in all over Afghanistan. Greedy warlords fighting for power.
It was during this time when she was raped 20 times
by militias 💔
She couldn’t tolerate this trauma and ended up committing suicide.
May Allah ﷻ forgive her.
This is how their love story ended. May Allah ﷻ unite both of them in Jannah.
Many girls were raped by the militias of these warlords,
it was Mullah Umar رحمه الله who stood against this oppression and hanged the rapists.
He took out Afghanistan from the claws of these thirsty warlords and implemented shariah.
This is why they despised him and called him a “terrorist”
May Allah ﷻ elevate his ranks. Ameen
