Transnet made a massive R1.6bn loss for 2023. We remember one time when Pravin Gordhan fired Siyabonga Gama as Transnet CEO who had steered the SOE into a massive R4.9bn profit in 2018 which was up 75% from R2.8bn in 2017 and all that was during Jacob Zuma's "State Capture Years"
The R1.6 billion loss is just for the first half of 2023. The real loss for the year will be even bigger.
