A thread on Sri Rallapalli Anantha Krishna Sharma who has great influence on my psyche. There is some good infomation availalbe on the internet about him. Will try to share some not-so-known things about him that I came across. Bear with me.
Sri Rallapalli was ekasanthāgrāhi. Well known scholar Tirumala Ramachandra notes that when he was 12 and with śrī kṛṣṇabrahma parakāla yatīndra, a scholar cāmarājanagaraṃ śrīkaṇṭhaśāstri recited below verse once. yatīndra ordered Rallapalli to remember it. And he did.
Sri Rallapalli is most probably the only poet at heart that I have seen. He always thrived to reach a true poetic stage. This burning within him is very huge that he translated raghuvaṃśam into Telugu and tore it up as he himself didnt feel its upto the mark.
He said -
A telugu scholar whose eyesight went down by age cited its reason as its bcz he demeaned Mahabharata characters 'in the search of truth'. Rallapalli said-"why to go till MB time? Why dont u find childhood mistakes of ur parents and bring out truth?"
This Telugu translation of gāthāsaptaśati by Rallapalli stands tall in the Telugu literature. Its a metrical translation. But its speciality lies in the poet's usage of unique flavour of Telugu language. It's rooted to Telugu land on par with prakrit.

His critical work on Telugu litearature, sārasvatālokamu is a treasure trove. Every Telugu should read this work to understand the depth of classics. Starting from how to read any kavya to how to criticize a literary work properly - all things discussed.

He composed many keeranas and songs. One of my favourite must on Penugonda, Rayalaseema. It is one of the best historical poems that grasps the soul of this place.
వెరపు లెరుగని బిరుదు నడకల
విజయనగరపు రాచకొడుకుల
పొరలఁబోయఁగ కరుడుగట్టిన
పచ్చినెత్తురుకుండ యీ పెనుగొండ కొండ!
