Energy is what breeds life and health, and proper light is one of the fundamental energy enhancers.
The right light also has an incredible ability to lower inflammation.
Inflammation + poor energy production are in EVERY health problem, hence why light is a Swiss Army knife.

Red and near infrared light are probably most well known for counteracting pain, and thus they may serve as a novel therapy for gut problems.
The right light actually can change the bacteria in the gut, and can even reduce symptoms of constipation.

This is the device I’ve been using, which you can get at 20% off using this link.
It has both critical red light wavelength regions as well as both near infrared wavelengths. emr-tek.com

Of course, sunlight is the traditional way of getting your red and near infrared light in.
Incandescent / halogen lights give a broad spectrum, with a good chunk of red / infrared light.
However, it does seem to be the case that a targeted, wavelength specific device is a more potent and reliable therapeutic option.
Several studies compare targeted red light to incandescent, with the latter being the placebo effectively. It may have insufficient output at a given wavelength to achieve the therapeutic property.
That is why I use the one mentioned, as it contains all wavelength regions I care about the most.
It also has a known irradiance and spot size, which are critical to know if trying to implement it properly.
The power and energy density (irradiance and radiant exposure, respectively) are important to know depending on what you are using it for.
Not all lights are created equal.

Both insufficient and excessive doses can compromise outcomes.
In general, less is more, and just bathing in light therapy can be harmful.
This is an excellent database on light therapy.
You can find out the specifications (irradiance, spot size, time of application, distance, etc) for given uses here, just search for a term and look for human studies.
