Jeremy Blaustein pointed out a bunch of his MGS script changes that he was exceptionally proud of & every single one make him look he doesn't understand subtext & characterization subtler than an 80s TMNT episode. not taking that back!
weird how he didn't include a single one of the tweets where I explained precisely why Blaustein is a bad writer or the Silent Hill localization team he worked with hating him.
"fans were upset about Twin Snakes' English script and thought the old translation sounded better" yeah people without much analytical ability imprint on whatever they're first exposed to. MGS3 was translated after Kojima fired Blaustein & Kaku & everyone loves MGS3's script.
"why are people MEAN to Jeremy Blaustein?" meanwhile, Blaustein. yea man I'm sure you could write a classic Hollywood action movie which is why a translation you got fired for is the only thing you're known for & you're still grasping for that tiny bit of relevance 25 years later
note the implication that Hollywood means inherently good & anime means inherently bad. that's the kinda praise he thrives on. but he's not "woke" so there's no reason to criticize him
