The creation of the universe is one of the biggest mysteries human beings have tried to figure out for centuries, but it wasn't until fairly recently did we get credible theories
Thread Day 8 & 9 & 10: The Smoke
According to modern science, the Big Bang Theory is the most reliable theory when it comes to the formation of the universe. A theory that states in essence, that the universe began from a SINGLE point as a hot dense mass of dust like particles and gas, then burst into expansion.
In recent times, it's now been discovered that the early universe, before this expansion period known as Inflation, was like a "smoke filled chamber from which light couldn't escape". From this point on, the universe expanded in size within milliseconds beyond belief.
From there, there was approximately 5-14 major stages of the formation of the universe to it's modern day condition, depending on the opinion of the scientist who categorizes the stages.
When you put these next to Quranic verses about the creation of the universe, it's fairly easy to see the resemblance. The non-Muslim apologists say we reach for an interpretation, when in reality they reach for vagueness in light of a lack of knowledge of Arabic language.
Consider the verse "Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the Earth were a joined entity, and We separated them...". Put this next to big bang theory in essence, n they are very similar, granted it's obviously described simply to the Arabs of the time.
The non-Muslim apologists say "Well, it's not in detail like the big bang theory, THAT would've been impressive. It's vague. Why does your Allah never describe exactly how"......
Consider the verse "Then he directed Himself to the heavens while it was smoke, and said to it 'Come into being willingly or unwillingly...'". The word used here is 'دجان' (dukhaan) which means smoke, or describes a while smoke is made small particles, gas, and water vapor.
The non-Muslim apologists say 'y is it just 1 word. There's not enough detail for it to be a miracle. It was actually hot gas, the proper Arabic word would've been 'غاز' (ghaaz).' While the word ghaaz is most likely mu'arrab (Arabicized foreign word) which didn't even exist then.
See how they squirm to justify denial? Rather, even if it said ghaaz they would say it should've said dukhaan. For a man (saw) to say anything remotely close to this in ancient Arabia with no background in science is intriguing at the very least, if not a conclusive evidence.
At the end of the day, the Quran wasn't sent as a scientific dissertation. The little mentions of scientific phenomena is just hint at the grandeur of God. Most is about morality and the Prophets, and oneness of God, and it's a book of spiritual guidance and the final Revelation
Relevant Quran verses:
"Indeed, Allah is not timid to present an example - that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it. N those who have believed know that it is the truth from their Lord. But as for those who disbelieve, they say,"What did Allah intend by this as an example?"
He misleads many thereby and guides many thereby. And He misleads not except the evildoers" (Q2:26)
"It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord
and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding."(Q3:7)
