Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)- is an anxiety disorder caused by very stressful, frightening or distressing events.
Bipolar- with its extreme mood swings from depression to mania, used to be called manic depressive disorder. Bipolar disorder is very serious and can cause risky behavior, even suicidal tendencies, and can be treated with therapy and medication.
Autism is a complex neurobehavioral condition that includes impairments in social interaction and developmental language and communication skills combined with rigid, repetitive behaviors. Because of the range of symptoms, this condition is now called autism spectrum disorder
Insomnia- habitual sleeplessness or the inability to sleep.
ADHD is a disorder that makes it difficult for a person to pay attention and control impulsive behaviors. He or she may also be restless and almost constantly active. ADHD is not just a childhood disorder. Although the symptoms of ADHD begin in childhood & can continue.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common, chronic and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.
Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed.
Anxiety is a normal emotion that causes increased alertness, fear, and physical signs, such as a rapid heart rate.
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a condition characterized by difficulties regulating emotion. This means that people feel emotions intensely and for extended periods of time, and it is harder for them to return to a stable baseline after an emotionally triggering event.
Guys, AGAIN, DO NOT self diagnose. If you feel like you have one of these, consult a PROFESSIONAL! Those with the authority to actually diagnose you. Mental illnesses are not some sort of joke. They are called "disorders" for a reason. Consult a Psychiatrist IMMEDIATELY!!!
