I got an interesting DM from someone tonight. She said she was listening to @5fm this morning & they started playing my track “Lose You ft. @Ami_Faku”. The DJ @msizijames stopped the song 2 seconds in & mentioned live on air that I don’t want 5fm playing my music.

Although he didn’t explain why (which probably would have got him in trouble), I want to thank @msizijames for respecting my wishes during this time.
It’s a sucky situation to be in, because it puts strain on my relationships with the good guys like Msizi at @5FM.

But I need to stick to my guns on this, because sometimes things to get worse before they can get better. I miss listening to @Nick_Hamman, but out of principle I won’t tune in until our royalty collecting agencies have been paid the R250mill debt owed to them by the SABC.

Whether you like it or not, listening to SABC stations is an endorsement of corruption.
By choosing to not listen to SABC stations, you’re making a stand for musicians in this country.
I call on the public, my fellow musicians, advertisers to stand with me on this.
