Ketamine dosing depends on
βπΌindication & βπΌaccess
Analgesic sweet spot is actually quite low ~0.1mg/kg
Dissociation for agitation & procedures, higher doses =/>1mg/kg is the target
πOnly IM access? β¬οΈ to 2-4mg/kg
But...see in the middle there btwn 0.1-1mg/kg? Thatβs #TheKHole

In this intermediate range is where you can find recreational drug use & emergence reactions. W/o enough dissociation, reality distortion can cause paranoia and fear in the under-sedated patient... this is what we want to avoid or make comfortable using coaching +/- meds
