3/ With consolidation in the RUL, the horizontal fissure is usually normally positioned βοΈ
But with atelectasis, the horizontal fissure is elevated π

4/ But WHY?! Think of the lungs as a balloon:

βͺοΈ Replaced w/ fluid, pus or blood = white, same size βͺοΈ
π Deflected, less air = less volume π
