Turning the tables
When discussing with critics of Islam whose judgements are clouded, turn the tables around and question their ideological standpoints. (Thread)
One can only question the veracity of a truth claim if they have alternative truth claims and should also be morally obliged to share it.
Here I share with you the what happens when they are confronted:
Case study 1:
Atheist gentleman making assertion ‘ there is no god’. This is an assertive claim requiring substantiation with evidence. When pressed for the evidence, he commits a straw man fallacy! This is an example of double standards. He was trying to turn the tables on me!
My response
Case study 2:
A ‘girl’ (self described) asserting ‘Qur’an is junk’. Notice how she only finds on the entire Qur’an 2 verses (apparently abrogated too) which are good, rest being otherwise.
When pressed with verses showing universal justice (which ALL should accept as a good teaching), she refuses to accept it and poses question on justice itself.
When questioned about her conceptual basis of justice, she refuses to engage, as this would expose her double standards.
Always question the standards/moral yardstick/barometer the critics themselves follow. Their cloudy judgements about Islam will be exposed by and through it.
