<thread 🧵>
A thread on the fake-history book titled "The Myth of the Andalusian Paradise" by Darío Fernández-Morera.
This is a book used by many anti-Islam groups, but is actually just revisionist conspiracies.
Sources:

b) muse.jhu.edu
The first thing that you should know is that this book is not published by any actual academic publishers, e.g OUP, Routledge, Palgrave Macmillan, Brill, Sage etc...
But instead Dario decided to go with a organization on the same tier as Alex Jones' Infowars.

DFM likes to talk a lot about "primary sources"
Since he cannot read the primary sources, he cites secondary sources & translations.
Even going as far to ignore sources that disprove him, and then lie that he "provided his reader all the known evidence"
DFM does not understand what a "dhimmi" is in Islamic societies, or even Islam it self.
Under Sharia non-Muslims could live under their own laws, i.e Jews would rule themselves according to their Torah.
However DFM interpret this as proofs that they did not coexist in peace.
Nor does DFM understand the context of historical documents from the perspective of the author of in that specific period of history and the events around it.
Because this book is targeted towards right-wing conspiracy groups, they will be unable to realize he's lying to them.
This whole book is just about the usual InfoWars conspiracies about "Marxist liberal conspiracy in academia" and "Islamic Golden Age never happened cause it debunks my right-wing politics".
You can reference this thread whenever you see that book being cited.
