Firstly, conflict has devastated Yemen’s health care system.
Over 50% of the hospitals and clinics are closed.
Millions of people have no access to any medical care.
In the few health centres which are working, there is often no basic equipment like masks and gloves, let alone oxygen and other essential supplies to treat COVID-19.
Health professionals are working hard, but they have no protective gear, and most are receiving no salaries.
And the conflict makes it even harder for people to protect themselves.
So what about preventative measures?

How can anyone wash their hands when the taps are dry or key water systems are damaged?
This rainy season, Yemen suffered torrential rainfall.
Hundreds died and thousands lost their homes, as floods ripped through urban areas.
