In Srilankan THERAVADA BUDDHISM ,Lord Vishnu is known as UPULVAN , Derived from 'Utpala -Varn [blue coloured]
Pali -"Uppalavanna"
✓ He is worshipped as a Kshetra-Pala of Dhamma/Buddha-shasana ( protector of land of Buddha)
✓ He is ' Bodhisattva ' not attained buddhahood Yet

The Buddha, At the time of his passing away declared that a Kshatriya prince named Vijaya, going to be its king of Sri Lanka.

In the commentry on Mahavamsa 1.240 ( vamsatthappakasini ) says that king Vijaya offered bali ( sacrificial) to Uppalavanna [ ..Uppalavannassa balikammakaranena avudhamathanadi attano ...]

Before 4th-5th century CE ( 4-5thAD is same time of SB).(before Mahavamsa/Dipavamsa scriptures)
