In 8th & 9th Suktas of the 6th Kand (Book) of Atharveda, there is advise to couples as to how to experience conjugal bliss and strengthen their life long relationship such as that their domestic life progresses with utmost happiness and contentment.
.. The mantras here, like in any Veda, have a transliterated as well as metaphorical meaning. Readers are suggested to try to grasp both the meanings to be able to appreciate the most authoritative and ancient wisdom in our divine Sanatan Dharma.
Letβs begin with Atharveda 6.8.1 :-

Moving to the next mantra in 8th Sukta i.e, Atharveda 6.8.2 :-
Meaning and purport : In this second mantra of 8th Sukta, the husband vows to remain utmost devoted to his wife so that his wife too remains desirous of him always.

In this mantra, the mutual devotion and chastity has been explained metaphorically as a fast flying bird (husbandβs mind) which fixes it claws firmly on ground (wife) while landing, so that bird (husband) & ground (Wife) mutually stay devoted to each other for all time to come.
In 3rd mantra of 8th Sukta, I.e, Atharveda 6.8.3 :-
Meaning and purport : Husband again expresses his devotion to his wife with all diligence (by pervading his mind like the sun spreads its rays on Earth and all across the Skies) so that she too stays desirous of him always.

As evident in the 8th Sukta above, the mantras suggest mutual love and affection between husband and wife for a long lasting happy married life , where both are mutually devoted to each other and are forever desirous.
The above Sukta destroys vehemently the prevalent Puranic practice [glorified by most of the tradcells (of both genders unfortunately)] one sided chastity of wives towards husbands, while ignoring or remaining silent about a manβs devotion towards his wife.
These mantras also asserts the sin of polygamy/polyandry which somehow crept into our Sanatani society as a means to meet political ends, and establish oneβs suzerainty as an affluent and prestigious individual in the society.
Thus completes the 8th Sukta of 6th Kand of Atharveda.
Now moving to the 1st Mantra of the 9th Sukta of the 6th Kand of Atharveda (6.9.1):-
Meaning and purport: Husband addresses his wife to be desirous of his body, his two legs, two eyes & two thighs. Also, he expresses his desire for the two beautiful eyes and hair of his wife.

This mantra has a deeper meaning which advises man and woman to be physically sound and achieve youthfulness before entering into a householders life.
The next mantra of the 9th Sukta I.e, 6.9.2 :-
Meaning and purport: The ever loving husband says about giving his wife protection in his strong arms and by keeping her in his heart, so that she always stays firmly in his intellect, his mind and while he discharges his duties.

Deeper meaning is, both husband and wife should work together as partners, with mutual love and respect towards fulfilment of the ultimate goals of a householder (Purusarth).
The 3rd mantra of the 9th Sukta I.e, 6.9.3, says, if a wifeβs heart is filled with affection, praise and devotion for her husband, she deserves to consume βghritaβ Which is an Ayurvedic potion made out of with cow ghee, for the happiness of her husband.
Metaphorically, this mantra advises that wherever both husband and wife lead a married life filled with mutual love and affection, there is alway bountiful production of milk, βghritaβ etc in that household. In other words, such households always replete with prosperity.
As clear in the 9th sukta above, it can be summarised that a man and women should first achieve complete youthfulness and soundness in body before getting married.
So, no Child Marriage in Sanatan Dharma, unlike some idiotic tradcells/ anti Hindu leftists and Abrahamics preach to defame our Dharma.
And also No Polygamy/ Polyandry supported by our the most authoritative scriptures of Sanatan Dharma, unlike some mindless tradcells vehemently support (from both genders) these days.
And most importantly, this Sukta recommends both husband and wife to work symbiotically as life partners in a synchronised way to lead a long lasting life of happiness and prosperity.
