Mini-#Thread on practice of telepathy & magic by Indians in medieval times, as recorded by Ibn Khurdadhbih (?-911 CE) a Persian high ranking official in service of Khalifa who travelled widely as a geographical explorer.

As per Ibn Khurdadhbih, Indians claimed and practiced telepathy and performed magical procedures for benefit of society, as indicated below :-
“The Indians claim that they can achieve their objectives with the help of magic. With its help they can cure poison and remove it from anyone who has been poisoned....
They also practise telepathy and with its help they cause things to happen or prevent them from taking place and also cause harm or benefit.
Again, they produce phantoms to the bewilderment of the sage. Then they claim that they can control the rains and cold.”
From above such accounts, one may construe that how mysterious as well as glorious our land has been in past, repleting with limitless treasure house of unimaginable scientific knowledge, which Western World inspired modern sciences is unable to even envisage..
.. with whatever logical capabilities they have developed in last couple of centuries.
Unless we introspect without any prejudice how much we have lost in terms of science, philosophy and logical thinking, especially in Middle Ages, we cannot devise a feasible action plan towards our own domestic renaissance...
.. For this, we first must free ourselves from clutches of self loathing colonial psyche prevalent towards our golden past and explore our ancient knowledge without rejecting them to be mere quackery outrightly.
